INTRODUCING STUDENTS TO FOLK STUDIES & FOlk art WHILE encouraging THEM to creatively and boldly explore, DOCUMENT & EXPRESS THEIR FAMILIES & COMMUNITIES TRADITIONS, CULTURE AND HERITAGE.

  • Creative Writing Category

    Personal or Academic Essays / Speeches / Play, Movie or TV Scripts / Short Stories / Songs / Memoirs / And More!

  • Poetry Category

    Blank verse / Rhymed Poetry / Free Verse / Epics / Narrative / Haiku / Pastoral poetry / Sonnet / Song Lyrics / And More!

  • Art Category

    Drawing / Painting / Print Making / Sculpture / Ceramics/ Illustration / Weaving / Sewing / Fashion / Graphic Design / And More!

  • Student must be in 6-12th grade to enter.

  • All entries must reflect topics in social studies, social justice, or history.

  • All entries must be submitted via Google Drive or Drop Box Link.

  • Students of all ethnicities are welcome to participate.

  • All entries must be original.
